Whatever it is he'll be doing it with pizazz!

PC World - Not just a TV Shop

We don’t just shop at PC World, we live in a PC world! Political correctness is a two pronged agenda with justice and mercy on one prong and self righteous intolerance on the other! Dave Gilpin, the senior pastor of Hope City Church, explains his position!

I was recently on BBC Radio Sheffield with the presenter trying his hardest to put me in a box over an issue of a Muslim refusing to have driving lessons from someone who’d had a sex change, and a Christian refusing accept homosexuality in the process of adoption.

I dislike being boxed, but I can understand that in a quest for ratings, the presenter wanted a stereotypical anti this and anti that, hell fire and brimstone preacher - one which I refuse to be. My wisdom has that in a truly great society, people have the right to believe what they believe and we ought to have the right to respect the person but objectively disagree with what they stand for.

My presenter friend was actually biased on the side of liberal plying the religion of political correctness which pressurizes people into thinking that human rights are human agreements. I couldn’t disagree more!

It was important for me not to go down the line of anti this and that but to stay more to the line of human value – in a celebrity culture that hopelessly values people according to their job, standing and pay pocket and applies a form of valueless genocide to both the unborn and the aged, it is essential that people know that they’re valued by God with a completely different price tag than the one the world gives.

Only then does sin make sense. Only then does selfishness and immortality have any bearings.

What dulls crown of its shine is of great importance when you realize that its crowns and not tin cans we’re dealing with.

The world wants to know its value to God. I refuse to slams a man’s orientations before the man knows that he’s valued by God as much as Billy Graham is valued!

As much as the world reveres Nelson Mandela, he is revered in Heaven through being one of God’s glorious creations. This isn’t the full story – it’s the brilliant backdrop for change. It’s upon that backdrop that we give value to both the need for changes and the benefits of change. Without it, all you have is boring, lifeless religion – and that’s what I and the world both agree on – we don’t want that!
The world knows deep within its conscience what is right and what is wrong. PC carries with it a realm of justice that has liberated many people who have been historically hard done by, but also carries a deadly self righteousness whose agenda is to create a liberal society that gets what it wants but in return carries residue of deep rooted unhappiness and regret and a feeling of drifting – a life discountered from the amazing love of Christ.

You have to know what the love of God really is to understand! And all you have to do is ask.

I believe in what’s right and what’s wrong, but my paramount message to my world is that I believe in them. Let the revolution begin as we turn our world the right side up through the power and love of Jesus and through not being boxed off by the intolerant world of PC.
