Musings from our Congregation Pastors

Newcastle: Simon Taylor

Wow! Time really does fly! December has to be one of my favourite months in the entire calender. It signals a time of celebration and the end of another year. At Hope City Newcastle we've got some great things lined up to welcome in the festive season.

Every year I realise you don’t need to spend heaps of money on people at Christmas time. If you put a little more thought into it, you will find there are amazing gifts which don’t cost the earth.  We have all heard the saying, ‘it’s the thought that counts”. Well it's true! There is no sense in getting yourself into financial difficulty when you can avoid it. I must admit I do like getting gifts but I also love giving gifts. To see the smile on someone’s face when they open a present from yourself is priceless.

There are so many people in Newcastle who have been given a gift but have not yet opened it. That is what Christmas is all about. God giving his Son Jesus as a gift to the world that we may have life and life to the full. In Hope City Church the Christmas season is a great opportunity to invite and show people what gift is awaiting them. So why not check out what is happening in December in Hope City Newcastle and start inviting?

The Connect Christmas Parties are on this month on 8th December across the city . With an evening packed with festive food, games and celebration - it's a great opportunity to get connected to the family of the church before we say goodbye to 2010.
Sunday 12th December at 6:00pm, we head back to St James’ Park for our annual Carols By Candlelight Service . This is always an incredible night. There will be a Brass Band, Santa is coming with a gift for all the kids and Mince Pies will make an appearance and so will much more! It's a night not to be missed and a great invitational evening; I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.
PLUS on Sunday 26th December at 11:00am, we have our Big Family Boxing Day Service at Tiger Tiger.

We have fantastic services EVERY Sunday at TIger Tiger at 11am with a great family feel and . We also have an awesome Whizz Kids Programme during the service for 2-10’s.

Happy Christmas Everyone! We look forward to meeting you soon!
